Reetha Powder (Soapnut)
Reetha Powder is a time-honoured Ayurvedic herb rooted in centuries of traditional healing — references to Reetha (Sapindus mukorossi) date back over 2,500 years in classical Sanskrit herbals. Revered for its gentle cleansing properties, its natural saponins create a mild lather that cleanses hair and skin without stripping natural oils. Pure, sun-dried, and finely powdered with no additives, chemicals, or sulphates — your natural alternative to chemical shampoos and cleansers.

FAQs
Yes — when used regularly, Reetha nourishes the scalp and supports hair regrowth. It helps combat dandruff and promotes overall scalp health through its antibacterial and antifungal properties.
You can apply Reetha powder to your hair once or twice a week. 2–3 times per week is recommended — using it more frequently may reduce the natural oils in your hair and scalp, making hair dry.
No — saponins in Reetha are bitter and show toxic effects. They must be removed through leaching and thorough cooking before any consumption, and it is not advisable to consume large amounts of foods containing Reetha. Our Reetha Powder is intended for external use only — for hair and skin cleansing.
Reetha can both cleanse and condition, but it may worsen dryness in those with a dry scalp. If you have a dry scalp, mix Reetha powder with a moisturiser like yoghurt or vegetable oil for better balance. Always do a patch test before first use, as some people may experience itching, redness, or irritation.
Yes — Reetha Powder is commonly combined with Shikakai Powder (1 tbsp each), boiled for 10–20 minutes in water, and used as a natural hair rinse. Amla and hibiscus powder can also be added to this mixture. Using Reetha with Amla and Shikakai is generally considered safe and complements its cleansing action.
